Transcripts of the letterbooks of Mass. Gov. Thomas Hutchinson, vols. 25-27, compiled by Malcolm Freiberg. Letters concern relations of the American colonies with Great Britain, particularly the activities of the Sons of Liberty and others in Boston and Massachusetts who opposed British government. Topics discussed include the reaction to the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre, and the Non-importation agreements. Also, discussion of the tea trade and Hutchinson family matters.
